News from JudyJo and Farm Update…

Me/Us

It is such a joy to be able to write you all again. Some of you remember me from when I was able to do all the farm sale days for the chickens, and go to Springfield to sell and visit you all there. I miss you terribly, and am looking forward to when we can get together again!

Others may not even know me, and that is totally understandable. I am the chicken lady, wife of Jim Protiva. We have been raising and selling chickens together for 25 years. Each year my health was declining, but for a long time, I was too busy to do anything about it. After several bouts with pneumonia, bronchitis, and serious flus, it was time! We discovered a number of infections in my body, including mold, and also doctors to help give us direction.

But the big news is that, in an effort to renew me to life and vitality, Jim is building us a home. In the woods, like I always dreamed of, with a window seat and a lovely kitchen! It is exciting, both because it is wonderful, such a huge endeavor, and also because the financing seems to come just as we need it. So far!

Meanwhile, I live in an RV, and celebrate each improvement in mind and body. Just one more case of dramatic changes in 2020! I am trying to gracefully adapt to moderate minimalism…
I am so grateful for all of you who have been praying for me.

On the Farm

And we know that most of you have been met with challenges this year. Through it all, you continue to buy from us and encourage us as we do our best to bring you healthy, flavorful meat products. We appreciate you.

In addition to building a house, we are preparing for another year of raising and selling chicken, turkey, and bulk beef. The snow and colder temperatures have not fooled us, spring will be coming! We expect to get our first chicks in a couple of months, and to do this season’s first processing in May. Meanwhile, you may buy our frozen chicken and turkey in various stores and at the farm. (Send us an email orders.pvpoultry@gmail.com to set up a time to stop by)

We hope to have the order form and current prices up on the website soon! - JudyJo
